Palmetto Troopers: Forest School Adventures for Curious Kids
Palmetto Troopers is a forest school experience designed for children who love to explore, create, and discover in the outdoors. Inspired by the principles of forest school, our program empowers children to lead their own learning, develop confidence through hands-on challenges, and connect deeply with the natural world.
Each session blends child-directed exploration, place-based learning, and emergent curriculum. Children may hike trails, study local ecosystems, investigate waterways, or build nature-inspired projects—all guided by experienced educators who honor curiosity, creativity, and independent problem-solving.
We embrace risky play, messy exploration, and outdoor challenges as essential tools for growth. By giving children space to test limits, make decisions, and learn from real-world experiences, we help them build resilience, critical thinking, and self-confidence.
Spring season Troopers also includes exciting field trips to local preserves, waterways, and conservation areas, where guest educators and hands-on activities bring science, ecology, and stewardship to life. From dip netting and water-quality testing to guided hikes and forest challenges, every adventure is designed to spark curiosity, wonder, and a lifelong love of learning.
